Janet Gessner Alford
Janet has been in the general community for 17 years with the last 3 as a River Hills resident. She happily joins her parents, Lynne and George Gessner, who have been residents for more than 20 years. Janet was born in Philadelphia, raised in Florida and has lived in GA, SC, NC, VA and NJ. She has 2 children. Travel and growing roses are her interests. Welcome Janet!

Teresa Berenyi
Teresa makes her home with her husband, Fred Steward. She has been in the RH community for 25 with original roots from Akron, OH! She has many interest so be sure to chat with her to learn more about them! Welcome Teresa!

Cindy Boyd
Cindy is a Charlotte native who has found her way to River Hills with her husband, Ed. They have 2 children who now have to share their mom's time with the pickleball courts! Happy dinking and welcome Cindy!

Bobbie Bradshaw
Bobbie and her husband, Toby, returned to this area a year ago after 20 years in Charleston (Daniel Island) to be closer to family. Prior to living in Charleston, the Bradshaws called River Hills home for 25 years. Bobbie was born in Georgia but moved to NC at a very young age. She has one daughter and one granddaughter and loves to play cards and travel. Welcome back to RHWC, Bobbie!

Leigh Britt
Leigh is a fairly new member to the community, having been here only 5 months. She moved here from Kinston, NC and has 2 adult children, Andy and Sarah and 1 grandson. In addition to spending time with family and her significant other, Jason Lewis, Leigh likes to play pickleball, golf, read and volunteer. Volunteer opportunities that benefit children are most appealing to her. Welcome Leigh!

Amory Clementi
Amory and her husband, Lee have been in River Hills since 2001. Originally from Oyster Bay, Long Island, NY, Amo enjoys tennis, pickleball, boating, puzzles and cooking! She and Lee have 3 adult children, 2 sons and a daughter and also one grandbaby boy! We are happy to welcome Amo and her bright smile to the club!

Originally from Joplin, Missouri, Janie and her husband, Rick have been in River Hills for 18 years. They have 2 children and 4 grandchildren. Janie is interested in playing cards and working with the Give Back Gals. Welcome, Janie!

Terry Davis
Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Terry and her husband, Phillip have been in the community for 7 years. Terry is a professional artist and a dog enthusiast. She has 3 sons and, when not creating art or playing with her dogs, she can be found wielding a tennis racquet or pickleball paddle. Welcome Terry!

Originally from Florida, Karen has been in the RH community since 2008. She and her husband, Guy have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. She counts golf and reading amongst her hobbies. Welcome Karen!

Jennifer Fabrizio
Jennifer and her husband, John have been in River Hills since 2020, but have been in the Charlotte area since 1996. Jennifer is originally from New York and is the proud mom to 2 children; one in college and one a senior in high school.

Becky, who is originally from Pittsburg, PA has been living in River Hills with her husband, Paul for 4 years. They have 2 adult children, a son and daughter and 3 grandchildren. Becky enjoys golf, cards and a good comeback line! Welcome Becky!

Cindy Fleming
Cindy and her partner, John Monson are very new to River Hills having moved here from Palisades/Ballantyne just one month ago. They have 5 children and 3 grandchildren. Cindy is an interior designer and artist. She is interested in gardening, hiking, walking and socializing! Welcome Cindy!

Karen Freier
Karen is relatively new to the community, having moved here less than two years ago. Karen is originally from Blacksburg, VA and lives with her partner, Rich Mason. She has 4 children and 7 grandchildren. She is a foodie who also loves to cook. Travel and painting round out her interests. Welcome Karen!

Regina Friedman
Regina, who lived on Long Island for 61 years, and her husband, Bill moved in early 2024. She is a retired RN with a active spirit. Since taking her first lesson at 47, she horseback rides once a week. She ran her first marathon at 62 and went zip lining for the firs time last month. She may be retired but she keeps plenty busy with walking, hiking, pickleball and boating. She and Bill have 3 children and 9 grandchildren. Welcome Regina!

Carol Goehring
You might recognize Carol from her first stint in River Hills. She and her husband, Chip moved here in 1995 and, after a short time in Beaufort, SC, decided to return. Carol is originally from New York State. She has 2 children and 3 grandchildren. Reading, kayaking, yoga, cooking, gardening and travel all help to keep her busy and engaged. Welcome Carol!

Jackie and her husband, Joel have been living in the community since January, 2023. Originally from Merrick, NY, she and Joel raised their two children in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. In addition to being a certified yoga instructor, Jackie's interests include dancing, yoga, music, football, movies, reading and crafts. Welcome Jackie!

Tracy , originally from the Midwest, made her way to the River Hills community about a year ago. Tracy has 2 children and 2 grandchildren. Newly retired, she and her soon to be husband, Mike Hindo, are often found on the golf course or pickleball courts. Tracy also likes to paint. Welcome Tracy!

Maria made her way to River Hills community from Kentucky via Charlotte almost 10 years ago. She and her husband, Brooks have 4 adult children, all one year apart. They also have 3 grandchildren with another one due to arrive in December. Maria does freelance work as a marketing, graphic design, creative services and content creator. She enjoys hiking, painting, writing, boating, bird watching and gardening. She is currently working on her first book. Welcome Maria!

Mary Claire Labaj
Mary Claire (who goes by Claire) and her husband, Don have been a part of the RH community for 2 years. Originally from Chardon, Ohio, Claire focuses on staying fit and healthy to enjoy her family as long as she can. To do this, she plays golf, pickleball, hikes, swims and just about anything else active when not traveling. Her son and 3 grandchildren keep her inspired to stay on track. Welcome Claire!

Catherine and her husband, Mike are long time members of the community. Originally from New York City, River Hills has been Catherine’s home for 17 years. She stays busy with Bridge, Mahjong, and gardening. She enjoys music, animals and entertaining. She and Mike have 4 children and 5 grandchildren. Welcome Catherine!

Cathy and her husband, Mike have been in the River Hills community for 3.5 years. Originally from High Point, NC, Cathy has one child and 4 grandchildren. Cathy loves games of all kinds and admits to starting each day with Wordle, even before coffee! She likes bridge, movies, golf, pickleball, dogs and going out for lunch. Welcome Cathy!

Christine Magley
Chris and her husband, Al have lived in River Hills for 10 years, moving here from Newtown, PA in Bucks County. They have 3 grown children, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, a granddaughter, a grandson and another granddaughter due in November. Although she is still working full time, Chris is planning to retire by year end. Once retired, she'll spend more time with family and friends, playing pickleball, hiking, gardening, reading and cooking. She and Al will also continue their quest to visit all National Parks - 26 done already. Welcome Chris!

Susie Mayer and her husband, Walter, just passed their 8 year mark as community residents. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and enjoys watercolor painting, working in the yard, traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren. And don't forget, pickleball! Welcome Susie!

Karen, a retired teacher, moved to this area about 3 years ago with her husband, Tim. Originally from Northeast Pennsylvania, Karen enjoys outdoor activities, painting and gardening. She has 5 children (2 girls, 3 boys) and 3 grandchildren (1 girl, 2 boys). She really enjoys working with preschool age children. Welcome Karen!

Cathy and her husband, Craig moved often before settling in the River Hills community. Originally from Georgia and Illinois, they have called this community home for almost 7 years. They have 3 children, a daughter and 2 sons and 3 lovely in-laws. She feels blessed to have 5 grandchildren (3 girls, 2 boys). Nora and her husband, Chris have been in River Hills for 4 years. Although she was born in Wilmington, Delaware, she considers the south her home. She has one daughter who lives in Charleston with her husband and 5 year old child. Newly retired after 30 years in banking, Nora loves to cook and travel. She has recently added gardening, fishing, golf and bridge as new interests. Welcome Nora!

Freida has been living in this area for 38 years and makes her home with her husband, Michael. She is originally from Gastonia and they have 2 grown, married children - one in NYC and one in Myers Park. She has a full plate with interests that include her career (selling technology to businesses), family, travel, boating/jet skiing, working out, hiking, golf, margaritas, dancing and fun stuff in general. Gayl hails originally from Michigan but has been a longtime resident of the RH community. A resident for 38 years, she and her partner, Chip Price enjoy their home here. Painting and travel are a couple of her interests. Welcome Gayl!

Kathy and her husband, Frank have called River Hills home for 8 years. Prior to that, with New York as a place of origin, many locations including Japan, Guantanamo Bay Cuba and Germany were all places they lived over the course of 24 years. Kathy and Frank have 3 married children and 8 grandchildren. Their family can be found in Matthews, NC, Rome, GA and San Antonio, TX. Welcome Kathy!

Lindy , who is originally from Rhode Island, moved to River Hills over 40 years ago and is herself a proud River Hills kid! She and her husband, Fred have 3 children and 4 grandchildren . Evelyn is a new, and self declared part-time resident of the community having been here only 2 months. She is a retired elementary teacher, originally from Ogden Dunes, Indiana. She has two grown children, a son and daughter (who lives in Lake Wylie) and 5 grandchildren. Art has always been a love of Evelyn's and she has proudly produced several pieces, including program covers. Now she devotes more attention to bridge, boating, ballroom dancing, kayaking, walking and traveling. Welcome Evelyn!
